Great ride-on, but a lot of torque.

We own several ride-ons. Most are the variable speed 2 - 5 mph type. This one is similar, but when set to high speed it will pull the front wheel off of the ground. It raised to a straight up position when my 6 year old first tried it. (Literally stood straight up onto the back tire.) The good and bad is that the speed control is covered by a cap with a screw. This will keep the younger kids more safe.

We do like it, and it definitely has the "cool factor" for the kids. Just make sure that safety equipment is used when riding, and you will be quite happy with this ride-on.

Great motorcycle with a few flaws
By RTAVerified Purchaser from Davis, CA on 1/6/2008
Pros:
Fun, Powerful, Stable
Cons:
Handbrakes flimsy, Instructions not clear
Best Uses:
Older Children, Outdoors
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

It was really nice to get a toy made in Italy (rather than China). This is a very realistic replica of a Ducati motorcycle, it feels powerful, and my son loves it. The only problems I found were that the instructions were not easy to follow (I had to figure out some things on my own), and that the two (non-working) handbrakes completely broke off just by being bumped again the ground or wall inside. Luckily they aren't necessary and I taped them back on but they aren't made that well. Overall this is great fun and well made.

This is our third ride on toy. We bought this for our son who just turned three. The motorcycle is more appropriate for a four year old. It tipped over with him on it about five times. He will no longer ride the bike. The training wheels do not make it stable enough. My six year old popped a wheely on it and fell backward and broke the back off of it. She also hurt herself. It is just not safe enough. I wish that I would have purchased it from a local retailer so I could have returned it. We did buy the Peg Perego Polaris also and that was a much better choice and a lot safer.

We puchased this for my three year old son's birthday. I think that it is to big for a three year old. He has a Power Wheels Quad and is used to riding these type of things. The motorcyle is not that stable and he has tipped over 5 times since we bought it. I think that we are going to return it before he really gets hurt. [...]

great motorcycle
By Valerie from Phoenix AZ on 1/24/2007

The bike was easy to put together and has plenty of power. I purchased it for my three year old son's birthday & he loves it. I was a little apprehensive about putting him on the bike, as it did a wheely when I tried it out, but my son weighs 30 pounds and did not have the same experience. May have been more appropriate for a four year old, but he loves it either way.
