I bought two of these; one for our home and one for our babysitter (who watches several boys). We both agree this has been a very helpful "device" in potty training boys. My 2 year old enjoys using it, and has increased his independence in going "potty." The only downside is that but my son enjoys flushing it a bit too much, and so I'm constantly filling the water reservoir. As well, since quite a bit of urine/water can be collected before being dumped, there is the chance it can be spilled (if the toddler tries to dump it himself) as well as smell if it sits too long and becomes stagnant. Other than that- a very useful product, good quality, and very cute and fun too!
I have a son with Autism. He started school this year and he (he's five) will NOT sit on the toilet, but he learned to use the urinal at school. We didn't have any successes at home until I found this urinal.
What is great about this urinal is it's set up like the ones at school, and it makes him feel like a "big boy". I like that it is "flushable" with the water reservoir at the top. Sometimes the tray to empty at the bottom is hard to put back in, and you DO have to empty it every time. That has become part of our routine, Go, Flush, Dump into big toilet, Flush.
It is thin enough to sit in a small area of our bathroom without obstructing anything else.
It is easy to clean, I have not seen any problems with staining. I spray it every night and wipe it down with a non toxic bathroom cleaner.
The downfall of this product is I do realize that it is a "starter" potty, but the height is so low even on the tallest setting, that I had to place it on a stool for my son to use.
I think it is a great product for the price, it is easy to put together. You can install it on a wall, I could not because my walls are all tiles or I would've put it up higher. It's bright and friendly, and easy to use.
this product helped finish the potty training. It took the work out of training and made it fun for my son. the clean up is farely easy compared to the alternative of a little boy on the toilet. My son love to go potty now. I would highly recomend to any parent having trouble with a boy.
Great product - reasonably priced - well worth it. My son started using this day one even tho he had never seen a urinal. Nothing else worked up to this point. He is 3 yrs/9 mo, but you can lower it for younger kids. Only downside is that he has a twin sister who tried to use it also. She quickly discovered this was not a viable use for girls...
This product makes my grandson feel like a big boy and prepares him to use the urinal in public bathrooms. Highly recommended.
We have this set up in our extra (BIG BOY) bathroom/ Guest bathroom. My son loves it. I do have to remove the water tank to keep him from flushing and wasting the water. It has been a great training tool.
Its great and my 2yr old uses it sometimes but he isn't too comfortable with it. He prefers the sit down potty and then the toilet and then lastly the urinal. But its far more hygenic and it should be easier to use just getting them to like using it is the only problem. Maybe an older toddler like a 3yr old may feel more confident using it? I would think any older like a 4 yr old would be using the toilet by then so its best maybe for a 3yr old??
We are currently training our 3rd boy (28 months). He just was not interested at all in sitting down to be trained & I thought I had a long battle ahead of me until I saw the Peter Potty. I was ecstatic to see this product & decided right away it was for us. I haven't started full-time with the training, but he has already used it twice ON HIS OWN & then came to tell me about it. I was shocked, to say the least. I'm expecting this too be a much more positive training experience!!!
My step son love his Peter Potty! He is 2 years old and we are toilet training him. He now goes to the toilet more than ever before. I mostly like the fact that it is light weight, easy to clean and affordable! Thanks CSN
I use this for potty traing and you know that everyone that see it is impressed with it as well
My son preferred to stand over sitting and the flushing part motivated him to keep trying. He was potty trained in a few days. A great find for boys with sensory issues.
This is the best thing ever. My little guy went for being sad and saying "I pee'd all over the place" to a completely trained clean wee weer with a smile on his face. He even likes to use it on his own at night. The person who designed this deserves a great big hug. I do have one suggestion, the tab on the botton to hold the urine holder from sliding off, does made emptying a full container a bit difficult, so I used a nail file sanded it off. Not a spill has ever occured, no matter how full up.
It is the perfect size for your little one, and the fact that it flushes, encourages them to use it because it's interactive. Stays securely upright, easy to clean.
As a mother of 2 four yr old girls and 1 son 2 yrs old this is perfect in helping him learn to use the potty standing up. The reservoir could be attached better ont he top but a little tape and that was not a problem. It really helps when all three have to go at the same time.
I saw this product and simply HAD to buy it...even though I don't have any kids. The Peter Potty is quite simply the coolest thing to happen to toilet training since, well, ever! My friends' little boy is a bit too young to use it, but he already considers Peter Potty his new buddy. Seriously, I almost wish I could potty train again. What a lucky little guy...
Potty trainning made easy...my son loves "his new potty"
Potty trained in less than 2 weeks
Peter Potty is excellent, I've been recommending it to everyone with little boys. No more worries about the toilet seat falling down and causing injury and my son loves to use it. He says "it's cool". With the real flush it's very easy to keep clean. I only wish I had found it earlier, but since it has height adjustments, I'm sure my son will be using it for years to come.
My son is not yet going potty but he is trying. He loves his urinal.Right now he just mostly loves to go in there and flush but it is encouraging him to try.I say go potty before you flush and he will stand up to the potty and try. When we first got it he kept trying to sit so we have made some progress.I don't mind if he flushes over and over,as long as he is getting the idea. That just tells me that the flushing can be rewarding once he learns to make the potty come out!
Besides our two year old using it. Everyone who sees it compliments on its coolness.
My son loves it. He is not 100% ready to train yet, but almost. I have recommended it to several parents. Wish I had one for my oldest son. Can't seem to convince my 4 yr old daughter that she can't use it.
It doesn't use much floor space at all.
I love this product, it was the only thing that really got my son to start using the potty. I have tried everything, went through several different chairs, nothing worked. I recommend this to all parents with boys.
My husband and I love this product! My son took to the concept right away. I would like for the water tank to be a bit bigger and the liquid waste bin to have a little better design (hard to remove when very full). My son has now moved on to the big potty, but this will be located near our basement patio doors for outside summertime convenience! Great product!
I have an 8 year old that is VERY MESSY when it comes to "number one". We are moving to a much smaller place with only one bathroom and I have been dreading this move - who wants to share a bathroom with a chronic misser?? This urinal is a wonderful idea, the perfect thing! Wall mounted, it will suit him fine and save me a lot of cleaning and yeling - not necessarily in that order!
I think this is a great thing! I am really excited to have found it.
