About New Zealand Radiata Pine Wood:
Radiata Pine, better known as 'New Zealand Pine' is a softwood tree that contains many properties that make it very suitable for furniture and furniture making. It has a density equal to that of hardwoods like poplar, mahogany and oak. Its uniform density ensures a smooth and consistent texture and confers its excellent machining, painting and staining properties; there is almost no variation in color between pieces. Da Vinci's pine wood originates from forests maintained by managers that enforce environmental responsibility and the conservation of forest wildlife.

We received this crib and the changer from CSN Baby (we are still waiting on the 4 drawer dresser and conversion rails. Baby isn't due until August, but so far the crib and dresser have the thumbs up from us. Great value for money and easy to assemble - I assembled most of the two items on my own but had to call on my hubby for additional hands - to make life easier. When baby has used this I will write another review. For now, I would highly recommend the Kalani crib set, it looks great, feels sturdy and is easy to assemble.
STURDY AND EASY TO ASSEMBLE....REQUEST A TOUCH UP KIT FOR MINOR SCRATCHES. [...] OVERALL, WE ARE HAPPY WITH OUR CHOICE.
Be careful putting it together. It scratches easily and came with some scratches. I'll have to touch it up. I would have rated it higher if it came with wood or plastic brown plugs to cover the bolts (we thought it came with those when we first looked at the picture). Also, don't be confused with the various pictures. Cherry is the red color, not the brown shown at the top of the page.
[...]Very easy to put together. It took me less than an hour and I'm 8 months preg! It's all wood and very sturdy. It does show hand/finger print marks on flat surface, but easy to wipe off. Great crib for the money.
We ordered this crib for our son who was born in June.[...] Everytime you touch this crib it marks! We have a two year old who wants to climb into it to see her brother and so it gets put through the ringer and has not survived well. We are already planning on replacing it this spring. It might be beautiful but it is not worth the money. Spend a little more and go for something that is of better quality. I wish we would have just purchased the same crib for our son that our daughter has as it has stood the test of time.
My husband had a very hard time putting it together but its a pretty nice crib for what you pay for. My son is almost 5 months now and we just started using it and its worked great so far. The only problem that I ran into was his mobile wont fit any where on his crib.
