About New Zealand Radiata Pine Wood:
Radiata Pine, better known as 'New Zealand Pine' is a softwood tree that contains many properties that make it very suitable for furniture and furniture making. It has a density equal to that of hardwoods like poplar, mahogany and oak. Its uniform density ensures a smooth and consistent texture and confers its excellent machining, painting and staining properties; there is almost no variation in color between pieces. Da Vinci's pine wood originates from forests maintained by managers that enforce environmental responsibility and the conservation of forest wildlife.

We had no problems recieving the changing table in the mail and it was very easy to put together. I would definately order more from here. I especially like the higher railings on top shelf so I don't always have to strap my baby in if I don't want to. The shelves all have a metal reinforcement underneath and the table as a whole is very sturdy. We also ordered a crib that came in the honey color and were pleasantly surprised to find out they matched perfectly.

In a store's show room, this changing table and the crib that matches seemed a little wonky; once they were put together at home though they are very sturdy ((although we haven't used them yet). Assembly was a one person job manually, but occassionally, both of us had to look at the directions to sort out what was intended/implied; it seemed like for part of the directions we had an old set of directions and that there may have been some changes to the changing table once they had been written (or vice versa). Assembly took about 45 minutes. The two storage shelves below the changing area will be good for holding diapering supplies although I will probably cover the surface with some pretty contact paper as the composite is not very attractive.
We're both tall, so I'm not sure if it will be quite tall enough for our backs, but I'm not sure we would have found something tall enough without spending well over our budget.
